#TakeawayTuesday - Our Top Takeaways From Our Webinar With Momentum Tutoring

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

Last week The B.R.I.D.G.E. Project returned with another awesome organization for the Wednesday Webinar Series! Last Wednesday we had a an awesome presentation, 'Tutoring 101' from Momentum Tutoring with Terri Bozhor!

This week's webinar was another opportunity to share the awesome resources available to San Diego County and beyond. We're happy that so many of you have been able to get the tools you need to be better advocates for your children, information that gives you the confidence to know that you are on the right path, and even when you simply need to change directions with how you approach obtaining supports and services. We also know from your feedback that you have questions specific to your child, your family, and your stage in the very individual journey of being a parent of a child with disabilities.

With that in mind, please continue to reach out to us (right here on the website) using the chat feature, on our Facebook page messenger, our Twitter, and our Instagram - we'll always listen to you (even if that is all you need), answer your questions honestly, and get you connected to resources, supports, partner advocates, and help your child and family needs.

We learned the many reasons Momentum Tutoring is a 2021 Top-Rated Great Nonprofit. Here's what we learned from our webinar with Momentum Tutoring's Owner, Terri Bozhor. Here's are top 3 facts we learned:

• Fact 1: Statistically 1 in 5 students struggle with school: Not knowing how to do something and find someone to help is a key reason that students and people, in general, perform below their potential. Momentum is helping students and their families to know there is help available and to know that they aren't alone.

• Fact 2: Tutored students outperformed non-tutored students in 45 out of 52 studies, a rate of nearly 90% (Quarterly Journal of Economics 2007): Tutors help with learning confidence and achievement

• Fact 3: 3 Signs that it might be time for a tutor are feeling overwhelmed, working below potential, or in need of inspiration: These are 3 major red flags 🚩🚩🚩that it's time for a tutor - no one parent or child should be crying; it's likely time for a tutor. People of all ages and abilities can benefit from a tutor!
